Release Notes v0.6.30 (Custom Dashboards & Widgets, Simple Drawing Mode, Advanced SKU Pricing)
Dashboard
The Dashboard has been completely redesigned and replaced with a new customizable system. You can now add custom widgets.
As a start, this release includes Tasks, Calendar, and Quick Actions widgets. We will add more in upcoming releases, and you can also send us suggestions for what you would like to see.

You can create multiple Dashboards, each with different widgets focused on the things you need.
Not all widgets are accessible to everyone, since some may contain sensitive information. In this initial release, widget access is managed in a similar way to Reports. Users with the Superuser permission (under Dashboard > Superuser) can manage access to all widgets. Users with permission to manage widget access will see a similar button to the one used for Reports in the upper-right corner. This allows you to manage who can use which widgets.

Each widget can be moved around, and you can choose one of four sizes.
Drawing
Added a setting for how lines should be generated. The functionality you already know is now called Advanced, and the new option is called Simple.

Simple mode does not try to check changes in the generated Quote against the Drawing. Instead, it always regenerates the whole Quote while keeping any manually added lines from before.
The Deal keeps the Advanced mode since things are tracked in more detail for the Deal (with Sales and Change Orders).
To switch the mode, go to Settings > Drawing > Quote Settings.
Added support for Other Items in the Quote step. Other Items allow you to create a catalog of a limited set of options you may want to add to a Quote. It's a faster method than adding a generic Product/Service. It's basically similar to adding a Package.
To set this up, go to Settings > Drawing > Lines & Other Items.
Pricing
Extended the pricing model for SKUs. Previously, you could define a Custom Field and a price modifier for that field. For example, you could say that honed slabs have a +$2/SF price. This setting was global and therefore not very flexible.
We kept the global setting for situations where it is useful for the SKUs. However, two more options were added for Price Groups and Product Details.
When you go to a Price Group, you can modify its prices based on SKU properties. For example, we can say that all products in a Price Group called Level A have an increased price if their SKU contains a honed surface and is price tier Builder or Contractor.

You can replicate the same setup for one specific Product. This is useful if that Product has many SKUs (e.g. a cabinet door).
You can also define specific prices for each SKU in the Product Detail. This is a simple way to skip price modifiers based on Custom Fields altogether. It is useful when you have, for example, five or six SKUs and just want to define their prices for each Pricing Tier. The image below shows how this looks.
Since our pricing models are becoming very advanced, we also added a simple tool to check what price a Product or Service would sell for. You can test it by going to a Product Detail and clicking the calculator button next to edit.

It shows what the Product would sell for to a specific Customer, taking all discounts, special pricing, and other rules into consideration, and shows which rules were used to calculate the price.
We will add more of these tools to Packages and provide more detailed tutorials and explanations for the different pricing options later.
Document Framework
Extended the editor with support for Shared Components. If you want to reuse one element multiple times (e.g. a document header), you can create a Shared Component and reuse it. You will notice that all your document headers are created this way by default.
When adding a new component, you can choose between System Components and Shared Components.

Management of Shared Components (adding/deleting them) will be implemented in one of the upcoming releases.
Files and Docs
Every File or Document can now optionally be linked to a Package. This makes it easier to organize which files belong to which Packages.
Finance
Added an option to print Bank Deposits.
Added an option to set up a Default Expense Account for a Vendor/Supplier. When configured, every new Bill or Expense will automatically have a line created with that account, saving time.
